These phones are rather basic and are not capable of additional features such as BLF (Busy Lamp Field), Call Park monitoring, Call Park speed dial keys, or additional line keys.
When these phones were originally released, they were usually configured to work with an XIP (Xcelerator IP Base) unit that would provide these phones with additional features and line key options. However the XIP and these phones have long since been marked as EoL (End of Life) by the manufacturer and thus, this these phones have limited capabilities on their own.
Before you begin the configuration of the phone, you will need to locate the SIP credentials and server information, this can be done by logging into your telco service provider control portal and navigating to the Devices tab.
Once in the Devices tab, you can use the search box to locate the device by name, click on the device name and then click on “Get Credentials.”
Configuration of these phones are rather simple.
The default login information is: admin/1234 or admin/22222
Important: To protect yourself, it is critical that the default login and password on the device are changed following strong credential best practices. In addition, it is also critical that the device is only provisioned and deployed behind a firewall. The default configuration of SIP phones is well known in the marketplace and phones deployed with default login credentials and/or that are placed outside a firewall are routinely targeted for exploitation by hackers.
To locate the Vertical phone on the network, you can either use a network scanner, the DHCP table of the Firewall or Router, and the phone itself via the following: press Config soft-key > press the down arrow until you see “Info” and press the center check mark key > use the down arrow again until you see a line that says “IP Address.”
Upon successful login, navigate to the SIP tab and fill in the following fields.
- SIP Proxy Server: HPBX server FQDN
