UNIVERGE BLUE® CONNECT integration with Microsoft Dynamics 365 allows UNIVERGE BLUE® CONNECT users to click-to-dial, log calls and pull up a contact card of the caller – all inside Dynamics 365 CRM.

Important: the CRM integration functionality depends on your license. Review the UNIVERGE BLUE® CONNECT Packages article to determine what packages include it. You may need to upgrade your license to use this feature.

Adding A Domain In Control Panel

In order to integrate UNIVERGE BLUE® CONNECT with Microsoft Dynamics 365 you need to add the domain you use in Dynamics 365 CRM in your Control Panel. Read our Knowledge article on UNIVERGE BLUE® CONNECT Integrations Management in Control Panel for more information.

Installation

  1. Click  here to download the UNIVERGE BLUE® CONNECT Microsoft Dynamics 365 integration.
  2. In Dynamics 365, navigate to Settings (gear icon) > Advanced Settings.

  3. Then, navigate to Settings > Solutions.

  4. Click Import.
  5. You will see Select Solution Package window. Click Choose File and select .zip file downloaded in step 1.
  6. Once .zip file is uploaded click Next.

  7. Click Next again in Solution Information window.

  8. Click Import to import UNIVERGE BLUE® CONNECT Dynamics 365 integration.

  9. When import is completed, you can click Close to finish installation.

UNIVERGE BLUE® CONNECT Microsoft Dynamics 365 Integration Configuration

Add or remove access to plugin for end-users

  1. Click on previously imported integration. A new window will open.
  2. Navigate to Configuration > Users. Check the box in front of the selected user name and click Add to give access or Remove to revoke access to the plugin. You can use Add To All option to grant access to all users at once.

Default Configuration

  1. To create Default Configuration, open previously imported integration. A new window will open. Navigate to Phone Settings > Add Default Configuration.

  2. It can be created for:
    • Contact
    • Account
    • Lead

Auto Create And Auto Open Flags

As an account administrator, you can set Auto Create and Auto Open options.

  • Auto Create automatically creates completed calls as Phone Call records
  • Auto Open allows users to automatically open known Contact, Account or Lead record associated with the phone number used on call. If this option is not selected, users will need to click on the number to pull up the caller record.

How To Put The UNIVERGE BLUE® CONNECT Ribbon On The Home Page Or Dashboard

There can be a problem that icon of the integration is unavailable from home/dashboard page. It can be fixed by following the next steps:

  1. In Dynamics 365, navigate to Settings (gear icon) > Advanced Settings.

  2. Click Customization.

  3. Click Developer Resources.

  4. On the page that opens, find and copy ID from "Instance Reference Information" section.
     

    Unique ID

  5. Then, insert the ID instead of {ID} into the script below:
    Xrm.WebApi.online.updateRecord("organization", "{ID}", {"clientfeatureset":'<clientfeatures><clientfeature xmlns:xsd=\http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema\ xmlns:xsi=\http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-Instance\><name>FCB.DashboardCustomizableRibbon</name><value>true</value><location>Organization</location></clientfeature></clientfeatures>'})
  6. Open Dashboard or Home page and open browser console. Copy the modified script from the previous step into the browser's console and run the script.

  7. Close the console, and refresh the opened page. The ribbon should now appear on the Home page or Dashboard.
    Note: no errors in console are expected after running the script - changes should be applied after refreshing the page. If there are no changes, it is recommended to clean the browser's cache and refresh one more time.

Update UNIVERGE BLUE® CONNECT Microsoft Dynamics 365 Integration File

  1. In Dynamics 365, navigate to Settings (gear icon) > Advanced Settings.
     

  2. Then, navigate to Settings > Solutions.
     

  3. Click Import.
  4. You will see Select Solution Package window. Click Choose File and select new .zip file you want to import.
  5. Once .zip file is uploaded click Next.

  7. You will be presented with Import Options window. Choose Overwrite Customizations option and click Import.

  8. Once import is completed, click Close to finish the update.

Required Permissions

To define the required permissions, ensure you are logged in to Microsoft Dynamics as a user with system administrator privileges.
Navigate to Settings > Advanced Settings > Security > Security Roles.
Select the role to be edited. MS Dynamics will now display all the permissions that can be enabled or disabled for the selected role. Ensure the following properties have the defined permissions.
