Known Issues

  1. SIP ALG is enabled by default, causing intermittent call and phone feature failures.

Resolution

  1. We need more information on this router to find out if the other basic router requirements can be made on this router.
    • Please contact UNIVERGE BLUE® Voice Technical Support so we can better document other necessary changes that need to be made to this router.
  2. The manual says that the settings below need to be disabled but it does not indicate exactly where they were.
    • Please let UNIVERGE BLUE® know if you find these settings are able to successfully disabled them.
      • SIP Protocol Handler > set to Disabled
        • This disables SIP ALG
      • RFC Non-compliant Messages > set to None (not Blocked)
        • This prevents UNIVERGE BLUE® non-compliant SIP messages to not be blocked.
  3. A possible workaround for quality issues will require creating one service and two rules.

    • Create a service for the UDP high ports and use it in an incoming Accept rule, which also has to allow the RTP ports.
    • Create a drop rule to block outgoing connections from the Internal RTP server (VoIP telephone system) to the provider's RTP server on high UDP ports
      • RTP ranges are provided by support
    • Create an allow rule for incoming and outgoing SIP traffic on UDP port 5060
