This article explains what happens with files and access permissions for a decommissioned UNIVERGE BLUE® SHARE user. The decommissioned UNIVERGE BLUE® SHARE user is the user for whom the UNIVERGE BLUE® SHARE service has been disabled.
Login
Decommissioned users cannot log in to UNIVERGE BLUE® SHARE.While the UNIVERGE BLUE® SHARE Desktop App ceases to sync content to and from the cloud, it remains linked to the user account, and local content is not automatically removed from the machine.
To remove a decommissioned user profile from a specific machine, the user should unlink their account, with the option to either retain or delete the local content. Additionally, the organization's admin has the capability to enforce a device wipe for the decommissioned user.
Sharing
- All folders shared with a decommissioned user will remain intact (permissions will not be deleted).
- All folders shared by a decommissioned user are not deleted, a decommissioned user retains Owner permissions.
- Administrator can share a decommissioned user's folders with Co-Owner permissions with other users.
File management
- Administrator can manage a decommissioned end-user's file space.
- Administrator can create, share, leave a share, delete, permanently delete, restore folders in end-user's file space.
- Administrator can download, upload, delete, permanently delete, restore files in end-user file space.
- If Administrator re-enables UNIVERGE BLUE® SHARE for the decommissioned user, the user gets access to their files back.
- When an Administrator re-creates a deleted user as a new server object and enables UNIVERGE BLUE® SHARE for them, the data of deleted user will not be associated with the newly created user.
