You can control users' password recovery and reset settings in Control Panel. Password settings can be modified account-wide and individually. Read our Knowledge article on Password Policy for more information on managing password settings account-wide.

Modify individual user password settings

Navigate to Control Panel > Users > Click on Display Name of the user > click Edit User password settings

Note: password expiration date can show will be set after user resets his password if the user has Force user to change password at next login enabled and they have not changed it yet.

 

Forgot password

There is a way to allow the users to use the option Forgot password in UNIVERGE BLUE® CONNECT, UNIVERGE BLUE® SHARE, UNIVERGE BLUE® MEET, UNIVERGE BLUE® ENGAGE. For the option to become available, alternative email address or Mobile Phone has to be specified for the user (they will be used to send a recovery code). This information can be added by admin. For admin to add these details: log in to Control Panel > Users > click on the user > User Info > Edit User Info > fill in the Information to restore user password.

Important: for the feature to work, the Mobile phone field must be filled out in the format of +1 650 641 4000 where +1 is a country code. Otherwise, the user might not receive the text message with the code.

User cannot change password

 
Unless the Information to restore user password has been added to user's profile, the user cannot recover their password using Forgot your password on the login page of UNIVERGE BLUE® CONNECT, UNIVERGE BLUE® SHARE, UNIVERGE BLUE® MEET or UNIVERGE BLUE® ENGAGE. They will receive the following error:

User is prompted to provide alternate contact information (email address and mobile phone) when logging into UNIVERGE BLUE® CONNECT, UNIVERGE BLUE® SHARE, UNIVERGE BLUE® MEET, UNIVERGE BLUE® ENGAGE (for users with 2FA enabled).

If password recovery information is already saved, it is validated upon further logins after either it was changed in Control Panel or 30 days have passed.

User doesn't receive email notifications about password expiring. These messages are sent by default if Custom Password policy is enabled and Password Expiration is enabled.

 

Force user to change password at next login

If the box Force user to change password at next login is checked in User settings then the user is forced to change the password on the next login to UNIVERGE BLUE® CONNECT, UNIVERGE BLUE® SHARE or UNIVERGE BLUE® MEET, UNIVERGE BLUE® ENGAGE. They need to enter the old password and a new one:
