Installation

UNIVERGE BLUE® CONNECT Outlook integration is delivered with the UNIVERGE BLUE® CONNECT Desktop App. If you do not see the Integrations tab in the UNIVERGE BLUE® CONNECT Desktop App, ensure you have the latest version installed. Refer to the Knowledge article on How to Upgrade the App for information on upgrading.

By default, this feature is disabled. Follow the steps below to enable it manually:

Scenario 1. Enabling Integration Manually

Note: Windows Admin rights are required to enable this integration.

  1. Click your profile image in the bottom-left corner of the UNIVERGE BLUE® CONNECT Desktop app.
  2. Navigate to Integrations section.
  3. Check the box for Microsoft Outlook integration.
  4. Сlick Save Changes button.
  5. Windows will prompt for admin permissions. Once successfully enabled, a Changes Saved appear, and a box will remain checked next to the Microsoft Outlook integration.
  6. Restart Outlook to start using the integration.

Scenario 2. Admin pre-enables integration

As a Windows administrator,

  1. Use either the Command Prompt or PowerShell to navigate to the UNIVERGE BLUE® CONNECT installation directory.
  2. Run UnivergeBlueConnectOfficeIntegration.exe with -silentinstall key.

Refer to the table below for the default installation paths for all installation types.

Application Installation Executable Path Command
UNIVERGE BLUE® CONNECT installed for all users C:\Program Files\UNIVERGE BLUE CONNECT\OfficeIntegrationServer\UnivergeBlueConnectOfficeIntegration.exe UnivergeBlueConnectOfficeIntegration.exe  -silentinstall
UNIVERGE BLUE® CONNECT installed for the current user C:\Users\{UserName}\AppData\Local\Programs\UNIVERGE BLUE CONNECT\OfficeIntegrationServer\UnivergeBlueConnectOfficeIntegration.exe UnivergeBlueConnectOfficeIntegration.exe  -silentinstall

After that, the user can enable the integration on their own without needing administrator permissions. Note that restarting Outlook is necessary for the integration to take effect.
