This article describes the steps to access various services using two-factor authentication (2FA). It includes instructions on entering credentials, selecting authentication methods, and setting up and using the UNIVERGE BLUE® PROTECT app for push notifications and one-time passcodes.

To access UNIVERGE BLUE® CONNECT, UNIVERGE BLUE® SHARE, UNIVERGE BLUE® MEET, or UNIVERGE BLUE® ENGAGE when two-factor authentication (2FA) is enabled, you will need to enter your credentials and pass two-factor authentication (2FA). Note: Two-factor authentication (2FA) applies to desktop, mobile, and web versions. On mobile devices, two-factor authentication (2FA) is challenged on every authentication (e.g., Email Account setup), no matter what Frequency setting is set.

To pass two-factor authentication (2FA):

  1. Enter your login and password.
  2. Select one of the available authentication methods:

Note: If access to the phone is lost, it is possible to fully reset two-factor authentication settings for the user. Read the Knowledge article on how to reset two-factor authentication (2FA) settings from the Control Panel: Managing Two-factor Authentication For End Users.

UNIVERGE BLUE® PROTECT App: Push Notification

  1. On the first login to UNIVERGE BLUE® CONNECT, UNIVERGE BLUE® SHARE, UNIVERGE BLUE® MEET or UNIVERGE BLUE® ENGAGE (after Two-factor Authentication has been enabled for you), you will be asked to download and set up UNIVERGE BLUE® PROTECT mobile app. The app is available for iOS and Android platforms and supported on the following languages: German, US English, UK English, AU English, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Canadian French and Japanese. The language can be switched by changing the device language in the device settings.
  2. Enter the phone number used with your company services and click Next.
  3. An SMS with the confirmation code will be sent to this number. Enter the code and click Confirm.
  4. A push notification will be sent to your mobile device via the UNIVERGE BLUE® PROTECT mobile app.
    Note: If you are not receiving a push notification, click Resend push notification on this page.
  5. In the UNIVERGE BLUE® PROTECT mobile app, click Allow to confirm login.
    Note: Click Deny to prevent unauthorized access attempts.

SMS Text Message

  1. Enter your login and password.
  2. Of the available authentication methods, select SMS text message.
  3. The code will be sent to your specified 2FA number via an SMS text message.
  4. On the login page, enter the code and click the green Next button.

 

Voice Call

  1. Enter your login and password.
  2. Of the available authentication methods, select Voice Call.
  3. You will receive a phone call and the code will be announced to you over the voice twice.
  4. On the login page, enter the code, click the green Next button and disconnect a call.

 

UNIVERGE BLUE® PROTECT App: One-Time Passcode

  1. Follow the steps above to download and set up the UNIVERGE BLUE® PROTECT app for the first use.
  2. On the login page, enter your login and password.
  3. Of the available authentication methods, select One-Time Passcode.
  4. In the UNIVERGE BLUE® PROTECT app switch to the Code tab to obtain the one-time passcode.
  5. The timer on the screen shows you how long the code will still be active. After that time, the code will change to a new code. 
  6. On the login page, enter the code while it is still active, click the green Next button.
