This article describes the process of the data migration (less than 1TB) from a local machine running Windows or Mac OS to the user's file space on the UNIVERGE BLUE® SHARE cloud.
To upload your files to UNIVERGE BLUE® SHARE cloud via desktop application:
- Login to UNIVERGE BLUE® SHARE web access, navigate to Help & Download section and download the desktop application for your OS version.
- Install the desktop application. Refer to the instructions on Windows and Mac client installation and
Once UNIVERGE BLUE® SHARE is installed on the computer, it creates a designated folder called My Blue Share on Windows or UNIVERGE BLUE® SHARE on Mac and adds it to Favorites in Windows Explorer or Finder.
The location of the UNIVERGE BLUE® SHARE folder can be specified during the desktop client installation as well as after the installation of the client (from within the client Settings menu). - Move your files and folders to the UNIVERGE BLUE® SHARE folder using standard file/folder operations: copy, cut and paste or drag-and-drop.
- The application will index your files and folders, then it will upload them to the cloud.
Note: this process may take several hours, depending on the number of files and their total size.
To upload SharePoint data
- Create the UNIVERGE BLUE® SHARE service user.
Note: this is a chargeable action. - Install the UNIVERGE BLUE® SHARE application on your computer.
- Login to UNIVERGE BLUE® SHARE with the credentials for the service user.
- Configure WebDav connection to SharePoint
- Drag and drop the folders from SharePoint to My Blue Share folder.
- To restore or share files, log in to the service user's UNIVERGE BLUE® SHARE web access.
To upload FTP server data:
- Create the UNIVERGE BLUE® SHARE service user.
Note: this is a chargeable action. - Install the UNIVERGE BLUE® SHARE application on your computer.
- Login to UNIVERGE BLUE® SHARE with credentials for the service user.
- Connect to your FTP server via WebDAV
- Drag and drop the folders from the FTP server to My Blue Share folder.
- To restore or share files, log in to the service user's UNIVERGE BLUE® SHARE web access.
